They grow up so fast, these precious little ones. I know: my four are now in their twenties! Without photographs, I wouldn’t be able to remember the tender curve of my daughter’s cheek, the way my son’s eyelashes cast spider shadows on his, the soft blonde curls at the back of his neck… Looking at my photographs triggers my sense memory – I can feel the velvety skin of that chubby little arm, smell the baby-smell of my newborn’s head, hear the echo of those priceless giggles.
My aim on a family shoot is to capture all those little things plus the interaction between you all, so that in the years to come, you and your children will look at the images and remember the story of your family. I believe it is important for children to see photographs of themselves on the walls and in albums – it is a concrete signal that they are valued.
“Thankyou so much for our beautiful book of memories Jo. It is just the most amazing thing to have and to cherish until we are old and wrinkly. I can’t thank you enough as the memories of our babies will be priceless to us one day.” Sara Austin
Family Photography Information
I offer two types of Family Photography experiences: On Location and Studio
I can come to you where we’ll move furniture if necessary, then shoot in and around your home. Depending on timings, weather and the age of your children, we can also go out on location – to a park or a wood, anywhere that’s special to you.
Natural Light Studio
This is no ordinary studio experience as I welcome you and your children into my home. Here I have a dedicated natural light studio, books, toys and biscuits on tap! Beautiful Brixworth Country Park is a short walk away if you would like to have natural lifestyle images. We can combine the two, time and weather permitting. You can even leave your car here after the shoot and take advantage of all the park has to offer to make a day of it!
I operate a two part payment process.
When you are ready to book, your non-refundable commission fee becomes payable so that the date we have agreed can be held in the diary. The Commission Fee covers my time – planning, shooting, processing, viewing (whether in person or via the creation of an online gallery) and preparing your images for print. £50 of the Commission Fee can then be put towards your artwork (but is not refundable as cash)
Your albums, framed prints etc are then charged on order. All payments must be made before items can be put into production. Informal Payment Plans can be arranged on request. The current Commission Fee and Artwork Price List can be viewed below.
“Jo, Just wanted to thank you for all your patience and efforts on Saturday – we all really enjoyed having fun with you!” Lucy
“Just fab – well done! A pleasure… love Emily’s pics! Thank you.” Dee
